Jenkins Fulfills Lifetime Dream; He’s A Gator

The Florida Gators have taken another bite out of talent-rich South Florida. Lauderdale Lakes Boyd Anderson cornerback Moses Jenkins has committed to the Gators and he will be signing his national letter of intent with Florida on Wednesday according to his coach, Mark James.

With cornerback a huge need for the Gators, Jenkins, who is rated three stars by Scout.com, has a chance to bring his skills to the Florida campus and contribute right away. Coach James said his star player is ready to go.

“It’s an open and shut case, he is going to Florida,” Coach James said. “He is just tired of the recruiting process. It was his life long dream to play for the Gators.”

James knows the Gators are getting a special prospect and one that could contribute soon in a secondary devoid of almost any experience at cornerback.

“He is a great player a great athlete,” James said of Jenkins. “He is 6-2, 190 pounds … he brings athleticism, 4.4 speed and great coverage ability.”

The Jenkins commitment is a double-win for the Gators. He’s the fourth commitment out of South Florida (Major Wright, Bo Williams and DeMarcus Van Dyke are the others) and he fills a position of great need. Moses Jenkins has a chance to come to Gainesville and make a statement early in his career. He gets to fulfill his lifetime dream and he will have a chance to make an impact. You can’t ask for more than that.
