Top 5 Games:

  1. Florida-Vanderbilt : You have to go all the way back to 1988 (10 days before I was born) to find the last time the Commodores beat Florida. However, this Florida team is beat up and I think the losses of games and teammates to injury are starting to take an emotional toll on the Gators. I’m taking Vandy in an upset.

  2. LSU-Alabama: The two SEC west powers collide this week amid rumors that Nick Saban has been linked to the Texas head-coaching job, assuming Mack Brown is let go at the end of the season. I remember the last time Saban said he wasn’t leaving one job for another and so do Dolphin fans — it didn’t end well for Miami. I think Bama overcomes the noise this week and continues rolling on to Pasadena.

  3. Oklahoma-Baylor: One of two Thursday matchups that pit top-10 teams against each other. I like the Bears and their high-powered offense to take down an Oklahoma team that was blown out bad by a bad Texas team earlier in the season.

  4. Oregon-Stanford: The second of the top-10 Thursday throw downs, I’m taking the Ducks to move on here as well. Stanford should be able to stay in this one for a while but the Ducks play fast and physical on both sides of the ball and they will be too much for Stanford.

  5. Kansas State-Texas Tech: Tech was rolling along this season before back-to-back losses derailed their season. I think the fighting Kliff Kingsbury’s get the bus pointed back in the right direction this week against Kansas State.

DK

No longer solely in last place (thanks David), I have to continue my ascension.

I think Baylor beats OU, but not by as much as most pundits think.

Alabama will beat LSU by 17+ points.

Miami will continue their slide and lose by 10+ points to Virginia Tech.

Florida will end their three game losing streak by rallying and pull of a 14 point win

Pretty scary that the Gators will probably be left on the outside looking in on bowl season if they can’t pull off a W this weekend against Vanderbilt. That being said, I think they’ll come out and play strong following a great second half effort against UGA. Big tests for Oregon and Alabama this weekend but I expect both to come out on top.

Richard

The world’s greatest Thursday night football slate is on tap and I can’t wait. First: does Stanford have enough offensively to compete with Oregon? The Ducks will score, of that we have no doubt, but can the Cardinal answer on offense and limit their points to a minimum on defense. Also, at the point of attack, how will Oregon fare on the lines of scrimmage, if this one’s close that may be the difference as Stanford tries to run the ball, milk the clock and limit the number of possessions the Ducks can get. I’m not sure Stanford has enough in the tank to pull this one off, Ducks win.

The other big Thursday night game is Baylor vs. Oklahoma. The Bears have another high octane offense, and the Sooners have a quarterback in Blake Bell that isn’t much of a throwing threat, if Baylor can get an early lead, that one could get ugly. I think the Bears sic’em.

David

Big games for the BCS this week with Alabama and Oregon.  Alabama  has been precision like in the last several games and I believe they will handle the Tigers fairly easy.  Oregon will win a battle out west on Thursday night and tighten their grip on the No. 2 position.
