Florida Gators coach Will Muschamp addressed Jessamen Dunker’s status for the first time publicly on Friday.

Dunker has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities. That means he is not allowed to participate in offseason workouts or use any of the team’s facilities.

“I met with Jessamen Dunker (Friday) morning,” Muschamp said. “I suspended him from all team activities until we get more information.”

Dunker, a 19-year-old offensive guard, was arrested Wednesday on third-degree felony charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle. He was riding a scooter that had been reported stolen. He reportedly told police officers and the judge, through his attorney Huntley L. Johnson, during a bond hearing Thursday that he purchased the scooter for $600 and was not aware it was stolen.

“I have been on the road and just met with him face to face (Friday) morning for the first time for about 15 minutes,” Muschamp said. “Once we get more information we’ll move forward … we’ll address that further when I know more.”

Dunker’s driver’s license has been suspended and there was no plate on the scooter. He initially was pulled over for following a UF truck too closely.

The Boynton Beach native redshirted this season and was expected to battle for a starting job this spring.
