Florida Gators No. 6 in BCS Standings

The Gators are 8-1 overall and finished SEC play with a 7-1 record. They next play Louisiana-Lafayette at 12:21 p.m. on Saturday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Despite the lone loss against Georgia, Florida has quality wins to its credit against LSU (14-6), South Carolina (44-11) and Texas A&M (20-17). After hosting the Rajin’ Cajuns, the Gators will wrap up their home schedule with Jacksonville State on Nov. 17 before traveling to Florida State on Nov. 24. Game times have yet to be determined for either game.

Alabama stays atop the BCS Standings after its 21-17 come-from-behind victory against LSU in Death Valley. The defending national champs hope to extend the SEC’s streak of BCS National Championship game appearance to seven straight seasons.

Kansas State comes in at No. 2 in the latest BCS Standings, followed by Oregon, Notre Dame and Georgia. LSU falls to No. 7. South Carolina comes in at No. 8 and Florida State is No. 10.

That’s five SEC teams in the top 8 and seven of the top-21 spots.Texas A&M is No. 15 and Mississippi State is No. 21.
