Fayson leaves Florida

Sophomore Jarred Fayson is indeed leaving the University of Florida football team.

I’m told that members of Fayson’s family met with Florida head coach Urban Meyer late this afternoon and informed him that the wide receiver will transfer after the fall semester.

Fayson has told friends that he is considering three schools- USF, Miami, and Illinois. He is from Tampa and has already contacted the USF head football coach Jim Leavitt exploring the possibility of joining the Bulls. However, there’s still the question of what restrictions there will be on his transfer.

It was unclear whether Fayson would be with the Gators during the bowl game, but that is highly unlikely. Fayson cited the lack of playing time as the reason for his transfer. He has been unhappy with his status for several weeks. Fayson did not play in the game against Florida State this past weekend because of a pulled hamstring.
