Confirmed: Tebow played with broken hand vs. FSU

As originally reported on our message boards last night, it was reported that Tim Tebow had broken his right hand during the game and was seen wearing a cast afterwards.

We’ve gotten confirmation that Tim sustained what is called a non-displaced fracture and should be able to take the cast off in a couple of weeks. Apparently, he sustained the fracture during his five yard touchdown run on the opening drive in the third quarter vs. the Seminoles.

Non-displaced means the bone is still in the correct shape so that the two pieces are not “displaced” from each other. There is a fracture line, but the bones didn’t separate. Displaced fractures require some type of reduction, either by manipulation or surgery, to get the two broken pieces back in the right position.

We’ll have more later.
