With the sudden resignation of Florida defensive tackle coach Bryant Young on Wednesday, Florida will be scrambling to find a replacement before the high school spring evaluation period kicks off in a few weeks.
At this point, Florida is yet to release any intended targets, making any lists of possible candidates nearly impossible to compile.
Here are a few names of coaches associated with the current Gators staff:
Bo Davis- Assistant head coach/defensive tackles at Texas. Davis has coached for Will Muschamp at both LSU and with the Miami Dolphins. Davis joined Texas last season after coaching at Alabama under Nick Saban.
Lance Anderson- Anderson is currently the linebackers coach/recruiting coordinator at Stanford but while defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin was at Stanford, Anderson was the defensive tackles coach.
Mike Ward- Ward is the linebackers coach at Illinois but coached with D.J. Durkin at Bowling Green as the defensive line coach.
Travis Jones-Defensive line coach for the Seattle Seahawks. Jones coached with Will Muschamp at LSU and also was with Muschamp at Miami. Jones is now working for Dan Quinn in Seattle.
Terry Price- Defensive line coach at Texas A&M. Price coached with Will Muschamp at Auburn. Price is an Aggie graduate, so pulling him away from A&M will be tough.
However, Brad Lawing has years of experience coaching both ends and tackles at the same time. Florida may not need to hire a replacement at all.
