The stars come out on Friday night

Seven of the eight Florida commitments are in action Friday night in a busy night for high school football around the country. With the Florida Gators having an off week, the coaching staff will likely spend a lot of time this weekend on sidelines watching a lot of the prospects they are after. Here is a run down of where and who the Gator commitments play on Friday.

Running back Franklin Green (5-11, 200) and defensive end Chaz Sutton (6-4, 235) along with their (4-0) Savannah (GA) Jenkins teammates travel across town to (0-5) Savannah Johnson Friday for what looks like an easy match up.  Green has been murderous in the backfield this year with more than 900 yards rushing while Sutton tears it up on offense and defense, look for those things to continue tonight.

Gainesville (FL) High defensive end/tight end Earl Okine (6-7, 230) will try to help his (0-4) Purple Hurricanes win their first game this weekend. Okine’s club has its hands full taking on a strong and athletic Citra North Marion squad that is off to a (4-1) start this season.

Jersey City (NJ) St. Peter’s Prep athlete Will Hill (6-3, 190) takes his freakish skills and an undefeated (4-0) record on the road to face cross town rival Ferris, which comes into the game with a respectable (3-2) record.  Hill does everything for the Marauders on both offense and defense and continues to be a national star on the high school scene.

Safety Dee Finley (6-3, 210) and his Auburn (AL) Tigers (4-2-1) host winless Dothan (AL) (0-6) for what looks like an easy game. Finley is a true leader on defense and a head hunter from his safety position for Auburn.

Cornerback Jeremy Brown (5-10, 170) and his Orlando (FL) Boone (6-0) teammates are at home against University High (3-2) in an O-town show down on Friday. Boone is steamrolling through the season and one of the leaders is Brown who is electrifying on offense at receiver and defense as a shut down cornerback.

Janoris Jenkins (6-0, 175) of Pahokee (FL) (6-0) will get to rest this week after a strong, undefeated start to the season. Jenkins plays running back, receiver, linebacker, and defensive back for Pahokee on a team that is looking to win a second straight state title.

Place kicker Caleb Sturgis (5-11, 180) of St Augustine (FL) (5-0) brings his booming leg into a showdown of arch rivals when they square off on the road at Ponte Vedra Nease (5-1) for the annual St. John’s County showdown. Sturgis rarely has a kickoff returned because he kicks the ball out of the end zone. He’s a field goal threat for anything inside 60 yards, too.
