2017 receiver James Robinson (6-3, 185, Lakeland, FL High) was one of the top performers at the Florida Gators Friday Night Lights camp on Friday and he’s quickly becoming a name to know for 2017.

Robinson noticed that the competition was big time on Friday night and he says it helped show everyone why he’s a good player.

“It was a big night because there were a lot of the top receivers and cornerbacks out here,” he said. “I caught some balls from Jake Allen and from my own quarterback that came up here with us. Some schools are starting to recruit him and it helped me out.”

This summer Robinson has visited several schools, but he says one thing is separating the Gators from the rest.

“Really right now with Florida compared to other schools is the love they are showing me,” Robinson said. “The way they go about their recruiting and showing you they want you is important to me.”

Now that Robinson is done with his visits he says that two schools are sticking out to him with another showing him a good time this summer.

“I went up to Auburn recently and it was a good time,” Robinson said. “Right now though it’s mainly just Florida and Clemson. Both of those schools are building a good bond with me. We are building a good relationship.”

Florida Gators receivers coach Kerry Dixon is also becoming a big factor in Robinson’s recruitment and it’s something the 2017 receiver is noticing.

“Coach Dixon’s message is just that he wants me to grow up to be a man with him,” he said. “He wants me to be grow up the right way. He makes it seem like it isn’t all about football. He’s trying to be a father figure to me.”

Despite two schools sticking out to Robinson right now, the receiver says he’s in no rush to make a decision.

“I was thinking about doing it on TV during my senior year,” Robinson said on when he would like to make a decision. “So next year some time.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Robinson was one of the best receivers at Friday Night Lights and he certainly looks the part. Robinson will be one of the top receivers in the state for next year.
