RECRUITING: Aiken down to Gators and Noles

One of the top two way prospects in the state of Florida, four star wide receiver/safety Kamar Aiken and the Hollywood Chaminade Madonna football team are off to an impressive start. Aiken is playing a major role for his team as a leader on both sides of the football.

“We’re playing well. We’re 5-1 now and hope we’re even better soon.”

As the recruiting process continues, the 6’2”, 195-pound athlete claims to have narrowed it down to two schools. “It’s pretty much just Florida and Florida State right now. I’m mostly looking at those two.”

“I like everything about Florida State. I like that swagger they have always had and they have also been my favorite team as I grew up.”

With three contributing wide receivers set to graduate, Aiken sees the opportunity the Gators present. “I like everything about Florida too. The atmosphere around the team and the coaches are all great. Coach (Doc) Holliday has been recruiting me. I like him a lot. We get to talk about once a week.”

Aiken has not set up any official visits at the moment, but went on an unofficial to Gainesville this weekend to witness the Gators emotional victory over the LSU Tigers.

“I may wait to take some of my officials. I was in Gainesville yesterday on an unofficial visit, though. Me and Emeka (Nwankwo) went up to see the game. It was crazy. The Swamp was so loud. It was really just an overall great experience for me.”

With the Gators graduating so much talent at wide receiver, but not so much at safety, Aiken still would like to play both.

“I’ve talked to my schools about starting out playing both ways and that’s how they are recruiting me. I just want on the field.”

“I don’t have any time table for my decision. I just want to wait and make sure I make the right decision for myself.”

A top two-way talent with 4.5 speed, Kamar Aiken is an elite athlete with playmaking potential on both sides of the football. He has been recruited by top football programs all over the country and the state of Florida, however has come down to an instate top two. Gator Country will continue to follow his recruiting process, one that looks to come down to the end.
