Prospects predict Florida’s season: Florida Gators recruiting

Football season is upon and the Florida Gators will open up on Saturday night against UMass with a lot of expectations for a good season in 2016.

Not only will fans be watching the Gators this season, but prospects around the country will be watching to see how Florida does under second year head coach Jim McElwain and his staff.

Gator Country.com asked prospects and commits from the Florida Gators recruiting class to give their opinion on how the Gators will do in 2016.

Prospects had a lot of different opinions but one thing was certain and that’s that players expect McElwain to succeed at Florida this season.

Here’s what the prospects had to say:

Alabama offensive line commit Alex Leatherwood-“Florida will be SEC East champions without a doubt.”

Alabama athlete commit Chadarius Townsend- “It’s hard to say a win total but I know they will do great this year. I’m going to watch them play.”

Offensive lineman Caleb Chandler- “I think they’ll do great, they made it to the SEC championship last year. They got the right head coach, staff and the players to be able to do it again. I’m expecting a good season from them.”

Defensive tackle Tyrone Truesdell-“Florida is going to have a really good season this year.”

Florida Gators defensive end commit Zach Carter-“They’re going to prove a lot this year and I think they will only lose two games at most.”

2019 Florida Gators defensive back commit Jaleel McRae-“I feel like Coach McElwain is doing things over in Gainesville. I feel like we can get back to the SEC championship and win this time. We should be competing in Atlanta every year if you ask me.”

Defensive end LaBryan Ray-“I think it’s going to come down to them and Tennessee to win the East this year.”

Miami defensive back commit C.J. Henderson-“I think they go 10-2 this year but I wouldn’t be surprised if they go undefeated this year.”

Florida Gators defensive back commit Elijah Blades-“I think they will go either 9-3 or 10-2 during their regular season schedule.”

Florida Gators defensive tackle commit Jordon Scott-“My prediction this year for us is that they will be SEC champions and 12-0.”

Florida Gators receiver commit Daquon Green-“We’re going to be unstoppable this year and we will 10-3. Three loss the most.”

JUCO offensive line D’Marcus Hayes-“I think they’re going to win the SEC championship this year.”

Florida Gators quarterback commit Jake Allen-“A lot of winning for Florida this year.”
