OT Christian Harris Has Georgia on His Mind

Of all the players who participated in Monday’s AT&T Georgia Junior Bowl, perhaps none stood taller than 6-foot 6 offensive tackle Christian Harris.

Harris, who plays for Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill, got the starting nod for the East team and said he held is own during the week, despite having a case of the nerves.

“I was a little nervous coming in at first, but then I realized they got me here for a reason — I got to be good enough to block them,” said Harris.

“Its really just a learning experience. Just to the get experience and the exposure that we all needed. It was just fun, we learned a lot.”

Although his squad came up short in the end, losing 10-7, Harris looked very solid against a big and physical West defensive line all afternoon. Coming in at just under 270 pounds, Harris sports no bad weight and was undoubtedly the leanest of all the offensive linemen in attendance.

Playing at the integral left tackle spot during the week of practices and Monday’s game, Harris had some interesting matchups against some of the state and arguably the nation’s best defensive line prospects.

When asked who was his toughest draw during the week, Harris didn’t hesitate. “Andrew Williams from Eagle’s Landing [Christian Academy] — he’s good,” Harris said.

Harris also pointed out fellow teammate Bryson Allen-Williams as a guy who impressed him during the short, but action packed practice week.

With all of the football action over for the time being, Harris now turns his attention to recruiting, and unsurprisingly, it’s his home-state school which is currently in the lead.

“Honestly, Georgia’s in the lead kind of right now,” Harris said. “They said they said they should be offering me soon. I kind of get down there a lot because it’s close to home.”

Harris said that he has yet to receive any mail from Florida, but should the Gators ever get in contact with the agile behemoth, he would be open to listen. For now, Harris will be giving a look to other schools in the southeast. He plans on taking visits to Alabama, LSU and Georgia Tech.
