Ohio State commit Banks enjoys crazy Florida Gators game

A plethora of recruits were in attendance in The Swamp on Saturday to witness the Florida Gators defeat the Tennessee Volunteers 26-20 on Feleipe Franks’ 63-yard pass to wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland as time expired.

2018 cornerback and younger brother of injured Gators safety Marcell Harris, Sevyn Banks (6’1, 180, Orlando FL. Jones), was one of the prospects in Gainesville that enjoyed his visit and how the game finished.

“It was good,” said Banks. “I came to support my cousin, even though he’s not playing right now with his achilles, I still came to support. It was good though, I liked it. It was crazy. That was a crazy ending right there. I did not know it was going to go like that.”

The 2018 prospect has expressed interest in playing early at the next level and is intrigued by the freshman in the secondary that have made an immediate impact on the Gators defense.

“It’s good because they are playing freshman and I’m a freshman,” explained Banks. “Just knowing that you can come in and play as a freshman is good. It’s everybody’s plan.”

Though the cornerback didn’t speak with any of the coaches, Banks knows what he is getting with the Gators and the coaching staff.

“I know what Florida is,” says Banks. “I know what they do. It’s just home for me. It’s just the same. I haven’t had much time to explore, but Florida, the chants and the little rock they do at the beginning at the fourth quarter, that’s always good. It’s the same to me honestly. It’s where I grew up.”

The Ohio State commit is still solid to the Buckeyes and plans to travel to Columbus for the Buckeye’s showdown against Penn State on October 28th.

“Ohio State is always showing me love. It’s never a dull moment,” explained Banks.

The Orlando Jones prospect says that he has no other visits lined up at this time.
