New Gator Country Era: ‘The Recruitniks”

Gator Country is entering a new era today that will revolutionize college football recruiting coverage.

Executive Editor Buddy Martin and owner Raymond Hines III announced expanded recruiting coverage starting this week on GatorCountry.com, Gator Country Radio, and in Gator Country Magazine.

The coverage will feature “The Recruitniks,” a staff of experts and insiders, who will bring more intensified reporting and insight to customers and listeners.

“Recruiting is the lifeblood of a college football program,” Martin said in making the announcement. “It has also been the centerpiece of Gator Country since Ray Hines began this web site more than a decade ago.

“It is just as important to the true college football fan. We believe the members of Gator Country are the best college football fans in the country, and as such, they deserve expanded and up-to-the-minute information on the players who some day will be wearing the Orange and Blue.”

Gator County members already will know some of “The Recruitniks” – Cody Jones, Jeff Squires, Ryan Moss and Brett Williams. Mark McLeod, the host of Gator Country Radio Show whose relationships with high school coaches are numerous and legendary, will join the team as will John Fineran, an award-winning football writer and recruitaholic who will offer opinion and insights.

Longtime Gator Country recruiting insider Bob Redman is no longer on the staff and will be pursing work elsewhere.

“We appreciate all Bob did for Gator Country,” said Hines. “And we wish him all the best.”

Martin pointed out that this is just the first phase of “Recruitniks” and that more will be announced this week.

“And they wlll most likely be familiar names to everybody because they have outstanding credentials.”

McLeod, Fineran and “The Recruitniks” will strive to not only be the first to present the recruiting news but also will utilize Gator Country’s technological advantages to bring the news via the internet in the written word as well as streaming radio and TV coverage. Gator Country will continue to deliver in terms of quality and quantity — increased content, increased analysis and always with the highest standards of quality.
