Keanu Neal bonds with future teammates

ORLANDO — Even though he has known he would be participating in the Under Armour All-America Game for a while now, Florida Gators commitment Keanu Neal (South Sumter/Bushnell, Fla.) understands participating in the event is something he shouldn’t take for granted.

“It’s amazing. Being able to play with this amount of talent and play against this amount of talent really sticks out to me,” Neal said. “A lot of people don’t get this chance.”

Throughout the registration process, Neal spent a lot of time with fellow Gators commitments Marcel Harris, Kelvin Taylor and Alvin Bailey. The 6-foot-1, 203-pound safety is looking forward to the chance of playing alongside some of his close friends. He believes he and the other Florida commitments can use this time bond for the future.

“What I’m really looking forward to is building the chemistry we need to have before we get into Florida,” Neal said. “So once we get to Florida, we know exactly how each other plays and how they react to certain things.”

Including Neal, the Gators have four secondary recruits coming in with their 2013 class. While fans may be expecting big things from this talented group, Neal said he expects them to focus on building chemistry with each other.

“We expect to come together [at Florida] and build together as a group and starting the ‘No Fly Zone,’” he said.

During the off-season, Neal participates in both basketball and track and field. When he isn’t focusing on those other two sports, he said he is focusing on improving his football game before enrolling in Florida this summer.
