Isaiah Ford picks up Gators offer

Florida has hit the Jacksonville area hard ever since Will Muschamp has been at Florida, and the Gators will try to continue that success this year.

Last week, the Gators offered Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian receiver Isaiah Ford, who is teammates with Florida signee Nick Washington.

This offer was a big one for Ford for many reasons, including his relationship with Washington.

“This is a big offer to me,” Ford said. “It helps boost my confidence a lot to get that offer. And being that Nick Washington, who’s like a brother to me, is going to be a Gator makes this offer even better for me.”

The 6-foot-2, 165-pound Ford has been to Florida several times, and he has been impressed by what he has seen so far.

“I love the atmosphere,” Ford said. “When I’ve come to games, it looks amazing to play in The Swamp and for Florida. And the tradition and history that Florida has is amazing as well.”

So far Ford holds offers from Cincinnati, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, South Carolina and Vanderbilt among several others to give Ford 14 offers so far.

During Ford’s junior season, he had 45 catches for 643 yards and 13 touchdowns and also rushed for one carry for just three yards.

Ford plans to visit Florida soon but isn’t sure of an exact date as to when he will be in Gainesville.
