Inside Gators Recruiting 5/17/12

Florida football coaches have been mostly recruiting in the state of Florida over the past two weeks, but they are visiting out-of-state prospects again this week.

Florida defensive coordinator Dan Quinn visited Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter’s Prep cornerback Tre Bell on Wednesday. “It went good,” Bell said.

Orlando (Fla.) East River linebacker Ryne Rankin also received a visit from Florida on Wednesday. Rankin is verbally committed to Georgia.

UF cornerbacks coach Travaris Robinson visited Newnan (Ga.) Northgate cornerback Brandon Facyson on Wednesday.

Jackson (Miss.) Jackson Prep quarterback Ryan Buchanan said Will Muschamp called him on Wednesday and that’s when Buchanan told the Gators football that he would visit UF on June 8-9.

The Gators offered a scholarship to Somerville (N.J.) Immaculata defensive end Tashawn Bower on Wednesday. Bower said he grew up a fan of the Gators.

Florida handed out a scholarship offer to 2014 Palm Bay (Fla.) Bayside defensive tackle Travonte Valentine on Wednesday.

Another scholarship offer was extended to 2014 Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Northridge running back Bo Scarbrough. Scarbrough said he has family in Florida.

On Thursday, I expect Quinn and linebackers coach D.J. Durkin to be at Wyomissing, Pa., linebacker Alex Anzalone’s 6:30 A.M workout.
