Holland meets with Muschamp

On Tuesday the Gators hosted several prospects on campus for unofficial visits including several underclassmen.

One of those underclassmen was 2015 Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian linebacker Jeffrey Holland.

“The visit went great,” Holland said. “I got to tour the campus and see all of the facilities around the football office. I also got to meet with coach (Will) Muschamp and some of the others coaches, including the strength coach (Jeff) Dillman.”

The 6-foot-2, 226-pound Holland thought that the facilities at Florida were “state of the art” but the highlight for him was meeting with Jeff Dillman.

“From the moment I walked in he was pumped up and wild,” Holland said. “He acted like he was eager to see me and meet me during the trip. He’s a good coach and he has a lot of good trainers around him. The weight room was big and really nice.”

After Holland met with Jeff Dillman, he headed up to the coaches offices where he met with several members of the Florida Gators coaching staff.

“Coach (Will) Muschamp said he was glad I came and he can’t wait for me to come back up for a visit,” Holland said. “Coach Muschamp and I are creating a pretty good bond together, he was telling me about how I would fit in on the defense. He said that I would be a good Will linebacker and that he thinks that I can get to the quarterback and that I run sideline to sideline well. Coach (D.J.) Durkin and coach T-Rob were showing me some of the defensive schemes too.”

In the spring Holland had said he wanted to make a decision this summer, but he now says that may not happen. One thing that is for certain, he planned out another trip to Florida.

“I plan to get back to Florida for Friday Night Lights,” Holland said. “I’m not sure of when I’ll make a decision and I don’t have a leader right now.”
