Henderson looking at several factors for his decision: Florida Gators recruiting

Defensive back C.J. Henderson (6-1, 175, Miami, FL. Columbus) has been a prospect that Florida Gators recruiting fans have been talking about since last summer when he decomitted from Miami.

This past weekend Henderson took his official visit to Florida and his father Chris Henderson Sr. recapped the visit for us.
“It went pretty great,” Henderson Sr. said. “We had a good time. Everything went well.”
Henderson has been on the Gators campus multiple times this year but this visit was more for his family to see everything.
“I had been to Florida before. I brought C.J. up for an unofficial visit,” his father said of what they wanted to see during the visit. “My wife and my other son, this was their first time. So this trip was basically to let my family get familiar with Florida and just for C.J. to make sure this is or is not where he wants to be.”
The cornerback and his family has now been to three schools and his dad broke down what they like about the Gators.
“The facilities and the college atmosphere,” Henderson Sr. said on what they like about Florida. “The academics are great. Coach [Randy] Shannon and Coach [Torrian] Gray are great coaches. There’s Mike Rumph at Miami and Nick Saban at Alabama. All of them have great coaching. It comes down to where he wants to go. He really likes all three schools, so he can’t go wrong.”
Now that Henderson is done with official visits, his father broke down where his son is at in the process of making a final decision.
“He’s kind of stone-faced about it,” his father said on where his son is at as far as making a decision. “He just wants to weigh his options once he gets back. We’ll just give him advice and talk to him about it. We’ll sit down with him and see which one he really likes. I just help him by asking questions. My wife also ask questions, maybe some questions that he didn’t think of. But we don’t have any input on where he’ll end up. Basically it’s going to be his decision. It’s all up to him.”
The one thing his father does know is that Henderson has a few things he’s looking for in the school of his choice.
“Who’s going to develop him to get better,” he said on the deciding factors for his son. “ The education factor is big. I don’t think who’s coming in or who’s already there matters to him.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Alabama made a big impression on Henderson during his visit but the Gators did just the same this past weekend. Henderson is very close with Shawn Davis and Kemore Gamble as well Randy Shannon. This week’s coaching visits will be big for Henderson.
