Friday Night Frenzy Week 3 recap: Florida Gators commits

It’s that time of the year again where the Friday Night Lights are bright and prospects all across the country are trying to shine on the field to impress college coaches and win a state championship ring before heading to college.

Like the past years Gator Country is going to do a preview every Thursday for all of the Florida Gators commits and on Monday we will do a full recap including stats and notes from the past weeks games.

This year we are going to also to name a player of the week from the commits games.

High School Recap

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mark Thompson who  had  208 yards and a touchdown on 35 carries.

2016 commits

 Offensive lineman Branton Autry (6-4, 320, Coffeyville, KS JUCO)

Result: Coffeyville defeated Ellsworth, IA 49-48 on Saturday to move to 2-0 on the year.

Notes: Coffeyville was up 42-13 but hung on to win late in the game.

 Defensive end JaQuan Bailey (6-3, 235, Jacksonville, FL Raines)

Result: Raines defeated North Miami Beach 61-0 to move to 2-0 on the year.

Result: Meridian was defeated by Wayne County 35-31 on Friday night.

Andrew always knew he wanted to be involved with sports in some capacity. He began by coaching high school football for six years before deciding to pursue a career in journalism.
