Friday Night Frenzy Recap week 6: Florida Gators recruiting

It’s that time of the year again where the Friday Night Lights are bright and prospects all across the country are trying to shine on the field to impress college coaches and win a state championship ring before heading to college.

Like the past years Gator Country is going to do a preview every Thursday for all of the Florida Gators recruiting commits and on Monday we will do a full recap including stats and notes from the past weeks games.

This year we are going to also to name a player of the week from the commits games.

High School Recap

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Perine had 356 total yards and three touchdowns. 292 of those yards were rushing.

Offensive lineman Branton Autry (6-4, 320, Coffeyville, KS JUCO)

Result: Coffevyille defeated Iowa Central 49-7 on Saturday night.

Notes: Coffeyville are now 5-0 on the season.

 

Defensive end JaQuan Bailey (6-3, 235, Jacksonville, FL Raines)

Result: Raines defeated Wolfson 45-0 on Friday night.

Result: Hallandale lost to St. Thomas Aquinas 36-28 on Friday night.

Game Stats: Hammond had 11 catches for 158 yards and two touchdowns.

Notes: Hallandale had an early lead but couldn’t hold it against a good St. Thomas team.

  1. I have been saying this for the past five months, if you sign with coach Mac and can cut the mustard, you’ll be in the game. Never in the past has Florida had five freshmen on the field during the offense and defensive side of the ball. During the Willfallapart era, it never happened. That’s not an accident, but actually by design. If you sign with the Gators now and make the cut, you will play. What better recruiting tool is there, simply put PROOF.
