Friday night Frenzy Recap Week 5: Florida Gators recruiting

It’s that time of the year again where the Friday Night Lights are bright and prospects all across the country are trying to shine on the field to impress college coaches and win a state championship ring before heading to college.

Like the past years Gator Country is going to do a preview every Thursday for all of the Florida Gators recruiting commits and on Monday we will do a full recap including stats and notes from the past weeks games.

This year we are going to also to name a player of the week from the commits games.

High School Recap

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Chauncey Gardner- Gardner had 154-yards rushing and two touchdown in the win.

Result: Coffevyille defeated Independence 79-21 on Saturday night.

Defensive end JaQuan Bailey (6-3, 235, Jacksonville, FL Raines)

Result: Raines defeated Fernandina Beach 59-0 on Friday night to remain undefeated.

Result: West Orange lost to Trinity Christian 42-14 on Friday night.

Andrew always knew he wanted to be involved with sports in some capacity. He began by coaching high school football for six years before deciding to pursue a career in journalism. While coaching, he was a part of two state semifinal teams in the state of Alabama. Given his past coaching experience, he figured covering recruiting would be a perfect fit.
