Florida offers 2015 OL

Will Muschamp has said time and time again that the SEC is a line of scrimmage game and the Gators are always looking for top lineman.

On Friday, the Gators offered 2015 Memphis (Tn.) University School offensive lineman Drew Richmond.

“Coach (Will) Muschamp was the coach from Florida that offered me,” Richmond said. “He said that he likes the way I play and that he watched my film a lot. He said when he watched my film he could tell I was an athletic lineman and that I could play either right tackle or left tackle at Florida.”

While the 6-foot-6, 313-pound Richmond is still learning about the Gators, he does know about the tradition of winning the university has.

“Florida seems to be good in all of the sports,” Richmond said. “I know they have a really good baseball and basketball team. And football they are a good team and they have won some championships in the past. I think coach Muschamp will get them back to their winning ways and help them win more championships in the SEC and nationally.”

The relationship between Florida and Richmond is just now starting up but Brent Pease has been telling Richmond a lot about the offense.

“Coach Pease came up last fall to see us play a game,” Richmond said. “So I know him some and he tells me that they want to the run the ball at Florida so he wants linemen who can pull a lot and show how athletic they are. He said that they need lineman like me in their offense.”

Richmond says he plans to visit Florida this summer and he will visit Tennessee this coming weekend.
