The Florida Gators will head to Tuscaloosa on Saturday to play the Alabama Crimson Tide so the Gators will not have the opportunity to host any prospects this week.
Florida will however get the chance to put on a show for some prospects attending the Alabama game as well as prospects watching the game on TV.
Some of Florida’s top targets, however, will be on other campuses watching other teams play so this week instead of a Florida Gators visitor list we are going to list the prospects are visiting elsewhere.
Watching the Tide and Gators square off live
Florida linebacker commit Adonis Thomas (6-3, 229, Lawrenceville, GA Central Gwinnett) will take his first visit since committing to the Florida Gators in August. Thomas choose Florida over Alabama but said he was going to continue to take visits despite his commitment. Right now Thomas is solid to Florida but he will be watching this game closely.
Another linebacker in attendance Saturday will be Leo Lewis (6-3, 225, Brookhaven, MS High) who likes the two in-state schools and Alabama a lot but he has been in brief contact with Florida. A good performance could help get a visit from the inside linebacker.
2016 linebacker Lyndell Wilson (6-1, 218, Montgomery, AL Carver) is one of the top linebackers in the country for next year and the Gators have offered him.
2016 linebacker Ben Davis (6-4, 216, Gordo, AL High) is an Alabama legacy but the Florida coaching staff loves Davis and is trying hard to get a visit from him.
Visiting the Noles
Receiver Ryan Davis (5-10, 161, St. Petersburg, FL Lakewood) has visited Florida three times in the last month but on Saturday he will be in Tallahassee. FSU needs a good visit to stay in the mix as the Gators are pulling away.
Offensive lineman Matthew Burrell (6-4, 286, Woodbridge, VA C.D. Hylton) is taking his official visit to FSU this weekend. Burrell is scheduled to take an official visit to Florida for the South Carolina game in November. Ohio State leads for Burrell but the Florida Gators are in the race.
Offensive lineman Jalen Merrick (6-5, 295, New Smyrna Beach, FL High) was at Florida last weekend and this weekend he’s at Florida State. Florida and Miami are the leaders for Merrick right now as Florida State has slipped for him.
Defensive end CeCe Jefferson (6-2, 245, Glen St. Mary, FL Baker County) is scheduled to be in Tallahassee this weekend but I’m not sure if he actually shows up or not. It will be interesting to see if he shows up.
Linebacker Roquan Smith (6-0, 203, Montezuma, GA Macon County) has said he may be in town this weekend but I’m told that it’s unlikely he shows up. Florida and Georgia are still the top two schools for Smith.
2016 receiver T.J. Chase (6-1, 169, Bradenton, FL IMG) is one of the top receivers in the state for next year and has a Florida offer.
2016 safety Saivion Smith (6-2, 175, Bradenton, FL IMG) will be on of the top prospects next year and he’s scheduled to be in Tallahassee this weekend. Smith has a Florida offer.
