Florida Gators recruiting visitors list for January 20th weekend

The Florida Gators recruiting visitors list for this weekend is a packed one that is mixed with current commits and top targets for Florida.

For Florida, the hope is that some of the current commits can help land some of these uncommitted guys that are on the fence with Florida.

With only two weeks and a few days until signing day there are no questions that this weekend’s visits are huge for Florida.

Here’s the Florida Gators recruiting visitors list for this weekend.

Commits

This is the weekend that the Gators coaching staff marked down to have all of the current commits visit and that’s exactly what’s expected to take place.

In all the Gators have seven commits who have yet to take an official visit and those are the seven that are expected in Gainesville this weekend.

Quarterback Jake Allen, receiver Daquon Green and defensive end Zach Carter have all been the most vocal guys of the class as far as recruiting goes and they will be in town. These three are sure to be in the ears of the uncommitted guys.

Joining those three will be running back Malik Davis, cornerback Marco Wilson and tight end Zech Byrd all of which visited the Gators several times this fall.

Offensive lineman T.J. Moore will be making his first trip to Gainesville as a committed prospect. Moore says that if the visit goes well this weekend that he will not take any further visits, which is what the Gators are hoping. Auburn is still trying to get a visit next weekend.

DBU looking to reload

There’s no question that Florida is trying to sign a big defensive back class this year and they’re hosting two targets this weekend.

Defensive back C.J. Henderson is the guy that will get the most attention this weekend, as he’s been a top target for the Gators since last year. Henderson just went to Alabama and the Crimson Tide is putting a lot of pressure on him and Florida will try to end their momentum. Henderson is very close with Kemore Gamble and Shawn Davis, which help Florida out.

USC defensive back commit Juwan Burgess is a guy that has just recently started to gain some attention from Florida. Burgess is a raw at defensive back but is someone that has good speed and is very athletic. Burgess is a guy that Florida could definitely flip if they go all out on him.

Looking for beef on defense

Florida is looking to add depth at defensive tackle this year and they’re bringing two big targets this weekend. Both of which are guys that can play and are bigger guys, which is what Randy Shannon likes.

Defensive tackle Elijah Conliffe is another name that hasn’t been talked about a lot for Gator fans and Florida just got into the game in December with him. Conliffe says he wants to play in the SEC and right now Tennessee seems to be the team to beat. Conliffe does talk highly of Florida but this will be his first trip to Gainesville so we will have to see how his visit goes.

Defensive tackle T.J. Slaton named Florida his leader at the Army game and the Gators are looking good for the big man out of American Heritage. Slaton is a guy that can play both offensive and defensive line but he says he wants to play on the defensive side of the ball in college. The Gators can extend their lead with a good visit this weekend.

Instate LB coming to the Swamp

Linebacker Nick Smith just recently decomitted from North Carolina State and the Gators are getting him on a visit. Smith is a guy that was offered as soon as Randy Shannon took over as defensive coordinator and is a guy that the Gators like a lot. LSU is the Gators biggest threat here but Florida would like to shut his visit to Baton Rouge for next weekend.
