HEIGHT: 6’1”

WEIGHT: 205

POSITION: Linebacker

NOTABLE: Jackson was a carry over recruit from Shannon’s time at Arkansas. Though Florida and Arkansas were his only notable offers, Jackson’s tape still shows an explosive hybrid linebacker, the likes of which have become synonymous with Florida defense.

QUOTABLE: “Coach McElwain jumped up and gave me a hug and a high five,” Jackson said of his commitment. “He said welcome to the club and to the Florida community. He was so happy when I told him I was going to be a Gator…Coach Shannon said that he’s going to make me a better player at linebacker,” Jackson said. “He said he’s going to make me better by working on my fundamentals as a linebacker and helping me improve in drills. He says that I’m going to be a good outside linebacker at Florida.”

Born into a large family of sports fanatics and wordsmiths alike, sports journalism came natural to Kassidy. It’s more than a passion; it’s simply a part of who she is. Hailing from Alabama in the midst of typical Iron Bowl family, she learned very quickly just how deep ties in the SEC could run. She came to Gainesville after college to pursue a degree as television sports reporter but quickly realized she missed writing. She’s excited to now marry the two aspects for Gator fans. She loves Jesus, her daddy and football; wants to be Billy Donovan’s best friend and firmly believes that offensive lineman are the best people on earth. Follow her on Twitter @KassidyGHill
