Florida Gators prospects react to Collins leaving UF

The Florida Gators coaching staff lost defensive coordinator Geoff Collins to Temple on Tuesday morning.

Collins recruited the Orlando area as well as parts of Alabama and Georgia and was involved with most of the defensive prospects.

GatorCountry.com asked the defensive prospects and the guys that were in his area to give us their reactions on the Collins move.

Defensive end LaBryan Ray- “I really like Coach Collins. He recruited me hard and you could tell he cared about players. I fully understand why he took the job at Temple. He has a family and has the best for them. I’m still high on Florida and like them though.”

2019 defensive tackle commit Jaquaze Sorrells- “I love that man point blank period. He brings high energy to the table and is a super good coach. But no it most definitely doesn’t affect me and Florida.”

Defensive back C.J. Henderson- “I’ll have to see how the defense plays in the bowl game.”

2019 safety commit Jaleel McRae-“I wish the best for him! I can’t be mad at him, it’s a big move him. I wish him the best there.”

Defensive end commit Zach Carter- “I already knew Coach Collins was out of there. Congrats coach. On that note I’m still a Gator. I don’t know what y’all think this is. #loyal,” Carter wrote on Twitter.”

Gators defensive back commit Marco Wilson-“ It doesn’t matter to me, I’m still a Gator.”

GATOR COUNTRY WILL CONTINUE TO ADD MORE REACTIONS AS WE GET THEM.
