Florida Gators: Gator Nation is everywhere says Martin

Offensive line is still a huge position of need for the Florida Gators and signing six in the class of 2016 is huge priority for the coaching staff.

A number of offers have already been sent out but last week another offer went out to offensive lineman Frank Martin (6-6, 300, Santa Ann, CA Mater Dei) who heard the news from a Gators assistant.

“Coach [Mike] Summers offered me from Florida last Thursday night,” Martin said. “He said that they really liked my tape a lot and that they need more guys like me on the team and around them. He said that why was he was offering me.”

Summers didn’t share a whole lot with Martin on Thursday night but he did state how much of a need linemen were at Florida right now.

“He didn’t get into what position he sees me fitting in at but I can play guard or tackle,” Martin said. “Coach Summers was saying that they need a lot of linemen because they don’t have a lot of depth there right now. He said that he needs guys that can play early.”

The California native has never visited Florida before but he admits that the Gator Nation is everywhere and he notices it.

“I don’t know a lot about Florida the school but I know a lot of players that played there,” Martin said. “Florida has a great education and is a top school but I want to learn more about them but I have high interest in them because everybody knows about the Gators. You see the Gator Chomp everywhere.”

Martin hopes to get to the sunshine state to see the Gator Nation in person and he hopes to do that soon as he schedules things.

“I haven’t set up any of visits yet but I plan to do that soon,” Martin said. “When I do set them up I plan to set one up to Florida though. I’m pretty open in my recruitment so I want to see a lot of different places.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Martin says all of the right things but right now USC is the lead team in the pack but a visit to Florida would show a lot of his interest in the Gators.
