Florida Gators: Friday Night Frenzy Recap Week 7

It’s that time of the year again where the Friday Night Lights are bright and prospects all across the country are trying to shine on the field to impress college coaches and win a state championship ring before heading to college.

Like the past years Gator Country is going to do a preview every Thursday for all of the Florida Gators commits and on Monday we will do a full recap including stats and notes from the past weeks games.

This year we are going to also highlight the key players to watch in the game that aren’t Florida Gators commits but rather targets or just big names in the game.

 

High School Recap

 

Linebacker Jerome Baker (6-1, 206, Cleveland, OH Benedictine)

Result: Benedictine defeated Padua Franciscan 28-14

Stats: Baker did not play due to an ankle injury.

Notes: Baker has 36 carries for 317 yards and four touchdowns this year.

  

Offensive Lineman George Brown (6-6, 264, Cincinnati, OH Winton Woods)

Result: Winton Woods defeated Bishop Chatard 20-18 on Friday.

Stats: N/A

Notes: George Brown and his teammates snapped a two game losing streak.

 

Receiver Derrick Dillon (5-11, 175, Franklinton, LA Pine)

Result: Pine lost to Aquinas 42-34 on Friday night.

Stats: Dillon’s stats weren’t available as of Sunday night.

Notes:  Dillon had 12 touchdowns on the year heading into this game.

 

Offensive lineman Michael Horton 6-4, 320, Atlanta, GA Lakeside)

Result: Lakeside defeated Alcovy 35-26

Stats: N/A

Notes: Lakeside evened its record this year on Friday.

 

Defensive end Andrew Ivie (6-3, 285, Dade City, FL Pasco)

Result: Pasco lost to South Sumter 14-6 on Friday.

Stats: Ivie had two tackles in the loss.

Notes: Ivie has 21 tackles, 4 sacks and one caused fumble this year. Ivie also has a safety this year.

 

Tight end Kalif Jackson (6-4, 202, Neptune Beach, FL Fletcher)

Result: Fletcher defeated Atlantic Coast 30-3 on Friday night.

Stats: Jackson had two catches for 87 yards and a touchdown

Notes: Jackson now has five touchdown catches on the year.

  

Quarterback Sheriron Jones (6-2, 189, Moreno Valley, CA Rancho Verde)

Result: Rancho Verde had a bye week this week.

Stats: N/A

Notes: Jones is now 68-102 for 1,338 yards and 103 touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns. Jones also has two interceptions on the year.

  

Offensive lineman Tyler Jordan (6-5, 270, Jacksonville, FL Bishop Kenny)

Result: Bishop Kenny defeated Paxon 20-6 on Friday.

Stats: Jordan had a sack in the win.

Notes: Bishop Kenny continues to roll on offense behind Tyler Jordan and the offensive line.

 

Tight End Camrin Knight (6-4, 220, Tallahassee, FL Lincoln)

Result: Lincoln defeated Chiles 49-14 on Friday.

Stats: Knight didn’t register a catch in the win.

Notes: Knight has 7 catches for 86 yards this year.

  

Offensive Lineman Brandon Sandifer (6-3, 332, Warner Robins, GA Northside)

Result: Northside defeated Academy of Richmond County 24-7

Stats: N/A

Notes: Sandifer and his offense controlled the game all night.

 

 

Linebacker Adonis Thomas (6-3, 219, Lawrenceville, GA Central Gwinnett)

Result: Central Gwinnett lost to Dacula 20-10 on Friday.

Stats: Thomas was in on several tackles but an exact number wasn’t available as of Sunday night.

Notes: Thomas has 44 tackles, 3 sacks and a fumble recovery on the year.
