Florida Gators: Friday Night Frenzy Preview Week 7

It’s that time of the year again where the Friday Night Lights are bright and prospects all across the country are working hard on the field to impress college coaches and also trying to win a state championship.

Like the past years Gator Country is going to do a preview every Thursday for all of the Florida Gators commits and on Monday we will do a full recap including stats and notes from the past weeks games.

This year we are going to also highlight the key players to watch in the game that aren’t Florida Gators commits but rather targets or just big names in the game.

Also we will give you a few games that involve Florida Gators targets from the Class of 2015 and 2016 to watch as well.

 

2015 commits

 

Linebacker Jerome Baker (6-1, 206, Cleveland, OH Benedictine)

Matchup: Benedictine (5-1) has an away game against Padua Franciscan on Friday.

Yearly Stats: Baker has 36 carries for 317yards and four touchdowns this year.

Matchup: Winton Woods (2-2) has a home a game against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard on Friday.

 Receiver Derrick Dillon (5-11, 175, Franklinton, LA Pine)

Matchup: Pine (3-1) has a home game against Aquinas on Friday.

Matchup: Lakeside (2-3) has a home game against Alcovy this Friday night.

Defensive end Andrew Ivie (6-3, 285, Dade City, FL Pasco)

Matchup: Pasco (2-3) travels to take on South Sumter in a district game on Friday.

Tight end Kalif Jackson (6-4, 202, Neptune Beach, FL Fletcher)

Matchup: Fletcher (4-1) goes on the road against Atlantic Coast this Friday.

Quarterback Sheriron Jones (6-2, 189, Moreno Valley, CA Rancho Verde)

Matchup: Rancho Verde (4-1) has a bye this week.

Yearly Stats: Jones is 68-102 for 1,338 yards and has 13 touchdown passes with two interceptions. Jones also has two rushing touchdowns.

Andrew Spivey
Andrew always knew he wanted to be involved with sports in some capacity. He began by coaching high school football for six years before deciding to pursue a career in journalism. While coaching, he was a part of two state semifinal teams in the state of Alabama. Given his past coaching experience, he figured covering recruiting would be a perfect fit.
