Florida commits and targets to play on ESPN

High school football season is fast approaching. Most high school teams start practicing the first of week of August and start playing games near the end of August.

Last week ESPN announced its yearly schedule of games that will be broadcast on various ESPN Networks throughout the fall football season and it’s full of Florida targets and commits.

Here are a few games that you should mark on your calendar to watch this fall in order to see Florida targets or commits on the field.

Byrnes High (S.C.) vs. Northwestern High (S.C) on August 22nd on ESPNU

Byrnes features one of Florida’s tight end targets in Tavin Richardson (6-3, 214-pounds)

Miami Central (FL.) vs. Hoover (AL.) on August 23rd on ESPN

While Miami Central doesn’t have a Florida target this year they are still a powerhouse program in the state that I’m sure everyone wants to keep tabs on. I think this could be one of the best games of the year as both teams are loaded.

Niceville (FL.) vs. Clay-Chalkville (AL.) on August 23rd on ESPNU

This game will be played in Hoover after the Miami Central vs. Hoover game and it has a lot of Florida targets playing for Niceville.

2015 running back Shi’ Coward (5-8, 168-pounds) is on the radar for Florida if they miss on other guys.

A pair of 2016 prospects are the headliners and they are WR Elijah Stove (6-1, 178-pounds)  and DB Romeo Finley (6-0, 196).Both have Florida offers already.

Booker T. Washington (FL.) vs. Oscar Smith (VA.) on August 23rd on ESPNU

Booker T is once again loaded and they have several prospects on Florida’s radar this year. WR Antonio Callaway (5-11, 177-pounds) and safety DaVante Davis (6-2, 188-pounds) are the two 2015 prospects that Florida has the best chances with. Tight end Devonaire Clarington (6-5, 224-pounds) just transferred to Booker T and he has a Florida offer but hasn’t shown much interest.

Oscar Smith has stud defensive end Josh Sweat — who is ranked in the top 5 in the country for 2015. Sweat is someone FSU is pushing hard for.

Trinity Christian (FL.) vs. Buford (GA.) on August 23rd on ESPN2

Trinity Christian is fully loaded with prospects that the Gators want to land led by safety commit Deontai Williams (6-1, 185-pounds). Linebacker Jeffrey Holland (6-1, 225-pounds) and defensive tackle Kendrick Norton (6-2, 292-pounds) are the top targets Florida wants.

Buford has linebacker Austin Smith (6-3, 220-pounds) who is committed to Tennessee but would love to get a green light from the Gators.

These are just a few of the games that ESPN has announced as I’m sure they will have plenty more games announced as the season gets closer.

I know I’m ready for some football, how about you?
