Montravius Adams has gone through a tumultuous week of preparation for the Under Armour All-America Game.

On Monday in the first practice session, Adams injured his ankle and was forced to miss most of practice and then all of the second practice session on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-3, 281-pound defensive tackle gave it a go during today’s third practice session but came up limping after participating in a one-on-one drill.

“I aggravated my ankle injury,” Adams said about his injury. “I’m not going to do anything tomorrow since tomorrow is just a walkthrough, but I’m going to see how I feel Friday [for the game].”

Although his status for the All-America game is uncertain, the one thing that is certain for Adams is he will be taking an official visit to Florida this weekend. The Vienna (Ga.) Dooly County prospect has been to the campus several times, but he wants his mother to see what Florida is all about.

“I’ve been to Florida a couple of times already,” Adams said. “I really just want my mother to see [the campus] and see how she likes it.”

Adams continues to be recruited by Florida defensive line coach Bryant Young and the two have developed a close relationship.

“The reason we get along so well is he just accomplished a lot of things I want to accomplish, too. His NFL success really helps,” Adams said.

For the Gators, Adams’ time at the trainer’s table has been a productive one. Adams said that Florida commitments Marcell Harris and Matt Rolin have been recruiting him to Florida during their time together.

“They were talking to me back when I was icing my ankle,” Adams said. “They were both just telling me to come to Florida.”

The participants in the Under Armour game were treated to a trip to Disney World on Tuesday, and Adams found some time to try out a few of the rides.

“I rode on the Tower of Terror. I screamed a little,” Adams said laughing.

Adams will arrive on campus this weekend for his official visit to Florida after the Under Armour All-America Game on Wednesday.
