Daniel provides recruitment details

Coach Will Muschamp and the Florida Gators have been actively trying to add another defensive end to an already impressive 2013 recruiting class.

Elijah Daniel (Avon, Ind.), who is participating in the Under Armour All-America Game on Jan. 4, has been widely considered as a recruit who could find his way into the Gators 2013 class.

Much has been made about Daniel’s academic concerns, but the 6-foot-3, 249-pound Indiana native said he doesn’t expect it to be a problem when it comes to his recruitment.

“I already got my ACT scores back,” Daniel said. “I did pretty good. [Academics] are not going to be an issue.”

Daniel has an official visit planned to Florida on the weekend of Jan. 11. He says everything is good to go.

“The visit to Florida is still going to happen. It’ll be the second weekend in January,” Daniel said.

After his visit to Florida, Daniel also has an official visit to Arizona State on Jan. 18, but he expects to make a decision within the next few weeks.

“I’m going to make decision somewhere here in the next two weeks, two or three weeks,” Daniel said.

Throughout the week, Daniel will be teammates with six Florida commits, but he doesn’t expect to be recruited very much by them.

“We talk a lot and everything, but that’s about it,” Daniel said. “I don’t really expect much recruiting.”

Daniel will be wearing No. 90 for the Black Team in the Under Armour All-America Game, which will be televised on ESPN on Jan. 4 at 5 p.m. ET.
