Florida running back commit Dalvin Cook (5-11, 192 Miami, FL Central) is set to announce his decision. Despite rumors to the contrary he will be able to announce at halftime of the Under Armour game telecast on ESPN Thursday, Gator Country has confirmed with Dalvin’s grandmother Betty Cook Tuesday.
His grandmother would not say where exactly Dalvin plans to attend, only that it wasn’t necessarily her choice but more importantly the young workhorse back made his own independently on where to go to college. Betty did say what was important to Dalvin about picking the school.
“Basically like he told you guys before,” Betty said. “The bond that he’s got with the coaches is what made his decision.”
If ESPN allows, Dalvin’s father and grandmother will both be on stage with him when he announces his decision and she says wherever he ends up is where she’ll be happy.
At the end of the day, is Betty relieved about closure to the recruiting process?
“Yes,” she said.

Grandmother told us that Dalvin was to announce on Thursday this morning. She apparently was not told by Dalvin that circumstances have changed and Dalvin will announce Tuesday evening, which is reflected in the update to the story at the top of the page.
I’m confused! Is his announcement tonight or at halftime of the game Thursday? It reads rather ambiguously.
Cook is now slated to announce at 7PM Tuesday on ESPNU.
