CB Paris set to visit Florida

Florida had a number of prospects on campus last weekend for junior day, but the number of visitors will be much lower this week.

But one top prospect will be on campus in Mansfield (Texas) Timberview cornerback Edward Paris.

“I have a 7-on-7 event this weekend so I’ll be in Florida,” Paris said. “I plan on visiting Florida either Saturday or Sunday. The place we are staying is only like two hours away from the campus, so I’m going to check it out.”

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Paris has a few things he is looking for when he visits Gainesville this weekend.

“I want to check out the program,” Paris said. “I want to see what the school has to offer academically and athletically. I want to meet all of the coaches and sit down with them and see the campus and facilities at Florida.”

Paris has talked to Will Muschamp several times on the phone already and said the conversations are similar each time.

“He just tells me he wants me,” Paris said. “He tells me that he is very interested in me as a cornerback, and that if I come in and work hard I would have a chance to play early at cornerback there.”

While Paris hasn’t visited Gainesville, he said he is highly interested as he gets close to making a decision.

“I’m narrowing down my choices and getting ready to decide,” Paris said. “I’m very interested in Florida, and they will be the last visit I take. I have already visited Texas A&M, LSU, Baylor, Texas and Texas Tech.”

Paris said one of the big keys is how comfortable his mom feels about the school, but she will not be on the visit with him this weekend.
