Florida Gators in the NBA: 11/21/12

Ten former Gators have been back in action for three weeks with their respective NBA teams and one of them is about to take over one of the top spots in his team’s record book. Going into Wednesday night’s game, Udonis Haslem needs two more rebounds to pass Alonzo Mourning for the Miami Heat’s all-time lead in rebounds.

Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards

Beal has averaged 11.7 ppg, 2.8 rpg, and 1.6 apg for the Wizards this season. In Washington’s last outing, Beal tallied 18 points in a loss to Indiana.

Matt Bonner, San Antonio Spurs

Bonner played in every game for the Spurs last week. He is averaging 4.1 ppg in eight games played. Bonner recorded a season-best 10 points in a loss to the Clippers.

Corey Brewer, Denver Nuggets

In 11 games, Brewer has averaged 10.4 ppg and 2.8 rpg for the Nuggets. Brewer has scored in double digits for Denver in their past two games.

Udonis Haslem, Miami Heat

Haslem has pulled down 4,806 rebounds in his career with the Heat and needs two more to pass the great Alonzo Morning for the Miami record. He has averaged 4.4 ppg and 4.8 rpg in the team’s 11 games.

Al Horford, Atlanta Hawks

Horford continues to lead the Hawks in scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.5 ppg and 8.9 rpg. Horford recorded a double-double against Sacramento on Friday, Nov.16 and was one point shy of his second-straight double-double against Orlando on Monday, Nov. 19.

David Lee, Golden State Warriors

Lee leads the Warriors on the boards, pulling down 11.0 rpg. He is currently seventh in the league in rebounds per game.  Lee is also averaging 15.6 ppg. In the past four games, Lee has posted a double-double. In addition, he has had a double-double in six of the past seven contests. 

Mike Miller, Miami Heat

In nine games, Miller is averaging 3.4 ppg, 2.7 rpg, and 1.6 apg. Against Denver on Thursday, November 15, Miller scored a season-best 12 points. He connected a season-high four three point field goals in the win against the Nuggets, as well.

Joakim Noah, Chicago Bulls

Noah continues to be a huge asset to the Bulls. He leads the team in rebounding and blocks, with 10.0 rpg and 2.0 bpg. He is currently tied for 10th in the league in rebounds per game. He tallied a season-high 21 points against Phoenix on Wednesday, November 14. In addition, Noah collected a season-best 15 rebounds in the team’s latest outing against Portland on Sunday, November 18.

Chandler Parsons, Houston Rockets

A starter in every game this season for the Rockets, Parsons is averaging 13.9 ppg, 6.6 rpg, and 3.5 apg. Last week, Parsons recorded a double-double in three of four games.

Marreese Speights, Memphis Grizzlies

Speights has played in every game for Memphis this season, averaging 6.9 ppg and 4.7 rpg. Against Charlotte on Saturday, Nov. 17, he had nine points and six rebounds.
