Florida Gators make the cut in Locke’s newly trimmed list

Noah Locke has been one of the breakout stories from this year’s travel season. At each event he raised his level of play and the offers continued to pour in. On Tuesday Locke trimmed his list to eight teams and that list consists of Florida, Maryland, Providence, Virginia, Ohio State, Michigan, Kansas and Xavier. Locke caught up with GatorCountry.com to talk about Florida and give a recap of his last travel season.

Locke was a member of Team Melo in the Nike EYBL circuit. The team had goals that they were determined to meet and they were able to come together and accomplish many of them.

“I think this travel season went pretty well,” Locke said. “We accomplished some goals that we wanted to achieve from the beginning of the season. I feel like the highlight of the season was when we needed to go 4-0 in Atlanta to give us that push for Peach jam, and we did it. We came to together really well and accomplished the goal we set.”

The relationship that Locke has with Coach White and Coach Nichols is one of the main reasons that Locke likes Florida.

A lot of things stick out to me with Florida,” he said. “The coaching staff, playing style, winning program tradition and atmosphere are things that really stand out. I have a great relationship with Coach White and also Coach Nichols. We talk almost every day and they always make it known that I am a priority to them and that I can come in and contribute right away. So I really like that about those guys.”

Locke is now looking into setting up official visits and is planning to make his decision before the start of his senior season.

“Once I take my visits I’ll cut my list down some more right after I take them,” Locke said. “After that I’ll make my decision before this upcoming school basketball season.”
