Florida Gators hoops target Little is having a successful spring

I can’t think of many recruits who have had a better spring than 1Family forward Nassir Little. Little has shown off his versatility and playmaking ability through two sessions of the Adidas Gauntlet. His impressive showing so far this spring has resulted in him receiving 13 offers in the month of April. Little caught up with GatorCountry.com to talk about his spring and his recruiting process.

Little has showcased his ability to score at all three levels on offense this spring. He has averaged 17 points and 7 rebounds per game through two sessions. Little has really worked on his perimeter game and the results have been obvious on the court.

“I’m a really versatile player,” Little said. “I can shoot, handle the ball, play down low, play mid post, rebound, guard multiple positions and just play all over the court. I’m mainly working on increasing my IQ, on ball defense, and continuing to improve my ball-handling. The first 2 sessions of the Adidas Gauntlet were good. We are getting better as a team. I played really well and got a lot of attention from several coaches.”

The Florida Gators are a team that has been recruiting Little for a long time. The Florida staff has developed a good relationship with the talented forward.

“I really like Florida’s playing style,” Little said. “They play hard defensively and allow freedom on offense. They also love to get into transition. I’m also really close with the entire staff.”

Little believes that his style of play would fit in well with how Florida plays. Little sees himself having a similar impact that former gator Devin Robinson had while in Gainesville.

“I see myself fitting in well at UF,” he said. “I’d be the hometown hero and I fit the playing style. I see myself as a Devin Robinson type player.”

The recruiting process has been blowing up for Little. In addition to the 13 offers in April, some more big name programs like North Carolina and Kentucky are starting to show interest in Little.

“Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, USC, Vandy, UNC, Kansas, FSU, Miami, South Carolina and a lot of other schools have been in contact recently,” Little said.

The opportunity to impact a program as a freshman and to gain a great education are some big factors for Little.

“I’m looking for great academics and the opportunity to get a lot of playing time as a freshman,” Little said. “Also a place where I’m able to mess up and grow without being on a short leash.”

Little will look to continue his impressive play throughout the rest of the travel season. Little and 1Family will be back in Adidas Gauntlet action May 26th-29th.
