Preview

Since entering last week on a seven-game winning streak, the Florida Gators have dropped two consecutive games to South Carolina and Vanderbilt. Before the two losses, Florida had won every game in which it held an opponent to fewer than 77 points, but with a rough week of offense, the Gators lost after holding South Carolina to just 57 points and Vanderbilt to 68.

LSU has lost its last five games, as its only SEC win this season came at Missouri. The Tigers have surrendered more than 90 points in four conference losses this season, while allowing an average of 88.3 points per game.

LSU guard Antonio Blakeney leads the team with 16.7 points per game and is the biggest long-range threat with 29 made three-pointers this season. Duop Reath (13.8) and Brandon Sampson (10.8) are also averaging double-digits for the Tigers. LSU struggles defensively, at the bottom of the SEC in both scoring defense (79.5 points per game) field goal percentage defense (45.4 percent).

The Gators trail LSU in the series with a 44-63 all-time record, including 13-35 on the road. Florida is 1-1 against LSU under Mike White, after splitting the series last season. The home team won both games last season. The Tigers took the last meeting 96-91. The Gators came up just short after scratching their way back from an 18-point deficit by scoring 62 in the second half.

Florida looks to get back on track both offensively and defensively in this game. The Gators have not lost three consecutive games at any point this season.

A lifelong sports fan, Bailiegh Carlton knew from a young age that she wanted to work in sports in some capacity. Before transferring to the University of Florida to study journalism, she played softball at Gulf Coast State College. She then interned for Gator Country for three years as she worked toward her degree. After graduation, Bailiegh decided to explore other opportunities in the world of sports, but all roads led her right back here. In her time away, she and her husband welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world. When she isn't working, she can almost always be found snuggled up with sweet baby Ridley, Cody and her four fur babies.
