Tre Mann is a local Florida prospect who is really starting to catch the attention of coaching staffs from all around the country. The class of 2019 point guard from the Villages High School, has been impressive for the E1T1 16u squad so far in the travel season. Mann recently caught up with GatorCountry.com to talk about travel ball and his recruiting process.
Mann is a balanced point guard who can help the team in several ways. He has the ability to knock down big shots as well as setting others up for scoring opportunities.
“I am an all-around point guard,” Mann said. “I can shoot off the dribble and hit set shots. I am Sneaky athletic and explosive. I need to get stronger and play with more energy on defense.”
The impressive play from Mann early on in the travel season has not only led his team to wins but has led him picking up some more offers.
“AAU ball has been going well,” he said. “My team has been playing good, but we still haven’t qualified for peach jam yet so that’s one of our goals. I’ve played solid so far. My play has led me to pick up a couple of offers.”
The Florida Gators are one of the teams who has been impressed with the local point guard. The Florida coaching staff offered Mann on April 20th.
“From what it looks and sounds like they have a good school, good campus, and a really good basketball team,” Mann said. “Plus it’s right around the corner from my house and all my family members’ houses. I like the coaching staff. I really haven’t got to know them yet, but from the little experience I do have with them, they’re cool and seem like nice men.”
Some well-known programs have offered Mann, including three SEC programs and an in-state ACC program.
“Florida, North Florida, Texas A&M, Memphis, Tennessee, and Florida State are the schools who have offered,” he said. “No one has really been on me hard yet, but Florida has been showing the most interest.”
A program with a history of sending players will be a big factor in Mann’s decision in picking a school.
“Some factors will be playing and coaching style mostly, but then I’ll look at the history of like how many pros they’ve had because that’s my main goal,” Mann said. “Then it’ll be the little stuff like weather and location and things like that.”
