Ware commits to Florida

Last year during Florida’s spring game the Gators picked up three commitments. This year, the Gators have already picked up their second of the day.

Opp (Al.) High defensive end Denzel Ware flipped his commitment from Kentucky to Florida on Saturday night.

“I’m committed to Florida,” Ware said. “Florida has been recruiting me the hardest even when I was committed to Kentucky and they made me feel at home. I was Gator Chomping today during our football game.”

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Ware said that while Florida talked to him about football, they also cared about him as a person too.

“The one thing that was different about Florida was they cared about me,” Ware said.

“They always talked to me more about education than football and told me how they can help me become a better man off the field as well on the field. They will get me prepared for life after football not just for life in the NFL.”

As many recruits say honesty was something noticeable from Florida’s coaching staff, Ware saw the same thing.

“Coach Muschamp is a real honest guy,” Ware said. “Coach (Jon) Haskins and coach (Bryant) Young are  both great people.”
