Walton wants a Florida offer

7 on 7 tournaments have become a huge part of the football offseason and has also allowed younger player to compete against older athletes.

One of those younger players competing in Melbourne this weekend was 2016 running back Mark Walton (5-10, 180, Miami, FL Booker T. Washington) who says he enjoys the competition at these types of tournaments.

“The first two games were real competitive out here,” Walton said. “It’s the same thing as high school really because I have to come out and compete. I play in 7 on 7 because it’s the best competition and it helps you get better.”

Walton who will only be a junior next year has already committed to Miami but says that other schools are giving him something to think about.

“Right now I’m still just looking at everybody,” Walton said. “Right now FAU is showing a lot of love and so is UCF and Florida. I don’t have a Florida offer yet though but I want one.”

Treon Harris one of Walton’s good friends signed with Florida this February and that could help Florida’s chances with Walton who says that if he received an offer the Gators would rise quickly in his recruitment.

“If Florida offered me they would move into my top 5 easily,” Walton said. “I really like the school a lot. I don’t know too much about them but I like the school and team overall.”

This summer Walton plans to take unofficial visits to colleges and Gainesville is one of the stops he plans to make where he wants to meet Will Muschamp and his coaching staff.

“I plan to go visit Florida this summer,” Walton said. “I want to learn more about the program and see everything they have to offer. I also want to meet the coaches and build a better relationship with the coaching staff at Florida.”
