Victor knows he’s needed for the Florida Gators

Receiver Binjimen Victor (6-4, 173, Coconut Creek, FL High) is one of the Florida Gators top targets remaining as the Gators look to add another playmaker at the receiver position.

Florida was in great shape for Victor during the summer, but the Ohio State Buckeyes made a good jump this fall. The Gators, however, will get their chance to sway the receiver back when he visits this month.

“I have two more visits left for January and I’ll be taking those to Florida and Tennessee,” Victor said. “I’ll be at Florida on the 22nd and Tennessee on the 15th and that will finish my visits.”

The Gators have made it known to Victor and other receivers that Florida needs playmakers on offense and that’s the message that the Coconut Creek star is getting.

“Florida tells me that they want me bad on offense,” he said of Florida’s message. “They tell me that if I come in and work hard that I can play early but they want to come in and learn the system and have fun first. They said that they’re looking for more receivers.”

Receivers coach Kerry Dixon is the one recruiting Victor hard, but the receiver already thinks highly of the Florida Gators.

“Coach Dixon is the coach recruiting me and we have a great relationship with each other,” Victor said. “Florida is home for me and the atmosphere is great when I go up there. The Swamp is a good game-day atmosphere too.”

At one time Ohio State was the leader for Victor, but he says Florida and the Tennessee Volunteers, plus three other schools are sticking out to him.

“No favorites for me right now but several schools are recruiting me hard,” Victor said. “I’m still looking at Ohio State, West Virginia and Louisville too. I already visited Ohio State and West Virginia.”

Victor hopes to see his recruitment end fairly soon, as he knows what he’s looking for in a school that he chooses.

“I want to commit at the end of January after all of my official visits are over with,” he said. “I’m looking to find the best fit for me on offense and where is the best place for be to be at for the next three to four years.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Right now I would say Tennessee has a lot of momentum for Victor but Florida can change all of that when he visits this month. Ohio State has lost some of its momentum and that should help Florida and Tennessee out.
