Upshaw commits to the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators received some good news for the second straight weekend when the coaching staff picked up another 2018 commitment.

Defensive end Taylor Upshaw (6-5, 240, Bradenton, FL. Braden River) announced his commitment to Florida on Saturday while visiting the Gators for camp.

“I will be committing to the University of Florida,” Upshaw said. ” #ChompChomp

Upshaw picked up his offer from the Gators this spring after defensive line coach Chris Rumph visited him for a practice.

“Coach Rumph has been telling me that he just wanted to see me in-person,” Upshaw said of his offer. “He said that he likes my length and how I rush the passer with my size.”

The Bradenton prospect had 25 plus offers and picked the Gators over offers from Clemson, Miami among others.

The defensive end is the 8th commitment of the 2018 class and the first defensive lineman in the class.

Gatorcountry will have much more on Upshaw’s commitment to Florida.
