The Florida Gators have built the number one recruiting class in the country for 2019 and on Saturday several of those commits were in attendance in the Swamp.
2019 Linebacker/safety commit Marcus Tillman (6-2, 215, Orlando, FL. Jones) was one of those in town and he got to see one of the best games in his opinion on Saturday.
“I liked it, it was crazy,” Tillman said of the game. “That was one of the best games ever, it was unbelievable how it ended. I thought it was going to go into overtime but they pulled it off at the end. The best atmosphere I’ve been a part of.”
Tillman plays multiple positions in high school and Florida has told him that they’re undecided on where he play in college but the 2019 commits is ok with that.
“They like me at both,” he said of whether Florida wants him at linebacker or safety. “I think I can play either one, I think I can come in and play right away. Just get better everyday.”
On Saturday, Tillman watched both position closely and he was impressed by the way the coaches have gotten the young guys ready to play.
“The best defense in the country,” Tillman said of Florida’s defense. “Nobody can be better than them. They [coaches] really help out the guys and help them be great and get them NFL ready.”
After the game was over, Tillman talked to several coaches including two defensive coaches who were excited and shocked to see the body change he has made recently.
“I talk Coach [Randy] Shannon, Coach [Kerry] Dixon and Coach [Tim] Skip,” he said on the coaches he talked too. “They told me that I had gotten bigger since the last time I was here and that they’re going to keep hitting me up. They’re just waiting for me to get back up here again.”
Tillman won’t be a stranger in Gainesville this year but he does plan to see other schools this year.
“I’m coming to the rest of the home games,” Tillman said on when he will visit Florida again. “I’m going to visit Ohio State, Alabama, USC and a couple of more games.”
INSIDERS TAKE: Tillman is solid in his commitment to Florida but has maintained that he will take other visits to see other places. Tillman is guy that likely grows into a linebacker but has played well at safety when playing there.
