Tebow & Wuerffel Teaching McElwain Super Secret Gator Handshake

Ponte Vedra, Fl-During a weekend that was busting at the seems with Florida Gators legacies, new head football coach Jim McElwain got to step right in the middle of it.

McElwain was a guest at the 5th Annual Tim Tebow Foundation Celebrity Gala and Golf Tournament, during which time he was able to rub shoulders with those that he say built the program which he now commands.

At one point during the stretch of media on the red carpet, McElwain made the joke concerning Tebow and Danny Wuerffel (both Gator Heisman winners and National Championship QBs), “they’ve got statues in front of the stadium, I want them on my good side.”

We didn’t get to actually see a handshake exchanged, but with Tebow and Wuerffel’s seal of approval being stamped, it was obvious that they are welcoming McElwain into the inner sanctum of Gator football.

GatorCountry caught up with McElwain, Tebow and Wuerffel to find out just how the building process is coming for the new coach, and what these two Gator legends think of the progress.
