Super Gallery: Florida Gators vs Missouri Tigers

The Missouri Tigers came into Gainesville and spoiled the Gators’ homecoming by handing the Gators their second homecoming loss in a row with a 42-13 win.  The game started out with Missouri returning the opening kickoff back for a touchdown and that was just a precursor of things to come.  The Gator defense allowed only 120 yards of offense against them but six turnovers by the Gator offense gave Missouri all they needed to put the game away.  In the last ten years, as reported by ESPN, teams that have allowed fewer than 120 yards have gone 147-2.  Both of the loses have been by a team coached by Will Muschamp (2011- Florida State and 2014-Missouri).

Gator Country photographer David Bowie was on the sidelines to record all the events from the game.  See all the action from last nights game if you feel like reliving that heartbreaking loss.

Nick de la Torre
A South Florida native, Nick developed a passion for all things sports at a very young age. His love for baseball was solidified when he saw Al Leiter’s no-hitter for the Marlins live in May of 1996. He was able to play baseball in college but quickly realized there isn’t much of a market for short, slow outfielders that hit around the Mendoza line. Wanting to continue with sports in some capacity he studied journalism at the University of Central Florida. Nick got his first start in the business as an intern for a website covering all things related to the NFL draft before spending two seasons covering the Florida football team at Bleacher Report. That job led him to GatorCountry. When he isn’t covering Gator sports, Nick enjoys hitting way too many shots on the golf course, attempting to keep up with his favorite t.v. shows and watching the Heat, Dolphins and Marlins.
