Super Gallery: Florida Gators triple OT thriller

What a game! What a game!

For the first time in more than 100 years of Florida Gators football, the orange and blue went into a triple overtime game, coming away with a thrilling 36-30 win over the Kentucky Wildcats.

Sophomore receiver Demarcus Robinson caught more passes than any receiver since Carlos Alvarez against Miami in 1969 and Matt Jones carried the ball 29 times for 156 yards and the game-winning score.

Will Muschamp and the Gators’ defense wavered in the middle of the game but Keanu Neal’s had two critical interceptions and Brian Poole added one of his own to help Florida hold on to the win and take an early lead in the race for the SEC East.

The game wasn’t pretty but our photo gallery, courtesy of Davie Bowie, sure is. Here are more than 130 photographs documenting a historic victory in The Swamp.

Nick de la Torre
A South Florida native, Nick developed a passion for all things sports at a very young age. His love for baseball was solidified when he saw Al Leiter’s no-hitter for the Marlins live in May of 1996. He was able to play baseball in college but quickly realized there isn’t much of a market for short, slow outfielders that hit around the Mendoza line. Wanting to continue with sports in some capacity he studied journalism at the University of Central Florida. Nick got his first start in the business as an intern for a website covering all things related to the NFL draft before spending two seasons covering the Florida football team at Bleacher Report. That job led him to GatorCountry. When he isn’t covering Gator sports, Nick enjoys hitting way too many shots on the golf course, attempting to keep up with his favorite t.v. shows and watching the Heat, Dolphins and Marlins.
