Logan intrigued by Lawing’s background

Last week the Gators sent two assistant coaches to the state of Louisiana to recruit the top prospects in the state and the Gators found an underclassman to offer.

The 2016 prospect that was offered was defensive tackle Glen Logan (6-4, 290, Destrehan , LA High) who received the offer from defensive line coach Brad Lawing.

“Florida offered me on Wednesday afternoon, it was Coach Lawing that offered me,” Logan said. “He was by my school and later that day I was told to call him and when I did he offered me a scholarship. He was telling me that he’s been coaching 35 years and that he coached Jadveon Clowney his first two years and that last year was his first year at Florida.”

The offer surprised Logan but the main thing that caught his attention was the coach who offered him due to his background.

“I was really surprised to get offered by Florida and especially a coach like him,” Logan said. “I mean he coached someone that went number one in the draft and that’s my dream to be drafted in the NFL in a few years.”

Logan now has 10 offers since Florida offered him but he says that he’s still learning about all of the schools including one he grew up rooting for.

“I’m interested in Florida but I’m interested in every school that has offered so far,” Logan said. “I didn’t really grow up watching football much so I’m learning things about every school. I kind of grew up a Miami fan but they haven’t offered me.”

One thing that Logan does know about Florida is that it’s tough for an opposing to come into Gainesville to play and that’s  something he wants to see for himself when he visits.

“I know that’s it pretty tough to play out there in the Swamp so I’m interested in going out to visit them,” Logan said. “I plan to visit Florida this summer for either a camp or for just an unofficial visit.”
