Gator Country members, now is the time to book your trip to Las Vegas. The Gator Country staff is here to give you some money making predictions on every weekly game across the Top 25 and SEC. The staff will also provide some insider takes on the toughest decisions to make each week.

Be sure to check Gator Country every Thursday this season to see who we like.

After five weeks, Seth is leading the pack with a couple close on his tail.

We’ll open the picks column with a statement to the Maryland fans who have been making fun of FSU’s schedule on Twitter. Newsflash, you’ve played FIU, Old Dominion, UCONN and a down West Virginia team. Don’t throw stones when you live in a glass house, the Noles should handle the Terps this Saturday (but if they don’t we’ll all enjoy it).

Baylor’s offense is going to get their first test this week against West Virginia (37th ranked defense in the country) but they should stand up to the test.

I’ve got the Gators handling business under the lights against Arkansas but if you’re a betting man, I don’t think Florida covers the spread. It should be a tight game with the two teams trading blows in the running game but in the end the Florida defense will be the difference maker.

I had a hard time picking the Oklahoma State-Kansas State game. The Cowboys let me down by laying an egg last week against West Virginia but I’m riding them again this week. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

David “PD” Parker

I am getting dangerously close to the lead here, so I have to start picking dubious upsets.

Maryland at FSU just smells like an upset waiting to happen. BC showed a lot of weaknesses in FSU and Maryland has maybe one more weapon than BC (and we all know who he is…should be shagging passes for UF right now).

Miami is the other upset loser for the week. Georgia Tech has dizzied the Cane D with their weird

Andrew Spivey

Last week I was close with a 17-1 record but this week I’m going to be perfect and get back in the thick of things.

Daniel “DK” Thompson

This week is going to be a perfect week for me. Last week I was close as I went 17-1, but this week I will be perfect – I have some ground to make up and this is the week for it.

A few bold picks – FSU will beat Maryland in the last five minutes and will struggle guarding Stefon Diggs. Miami will only beat GT by less than a touchdown and will struggle with the Georgia Tech offense.

Florida will win by 14 points, by a score of 27-13.

Seth Puglio

There’s a bunch of games I hesitated on but home-field advantage seems to be on the favorite’s side almost across the board this week. I think Utah will be tough to take down at home but the Bruins have been impressive so far and I think they’ll walk away in a close one. One game that jumps out to me is Ole Miss visiting Auburn. Can the Rebels avoid a letdown against an Auburn team that is gaining confidence? I think so.

Richard Johnson

The best matchup of the entire weekend in my opinion is the late night tilt between Stanford and Washington. The Huskies have had a good start in a renovated stadium and running back Bishop Sankey is a stud. Match that with a Stanford team that some have picked as a darkhorse national championship team makes this matchup mighty intriguing. I was high on the Cardinals in the offseason, I still am. Stanford will win.

Other game of intrigue for me is Ole Miss-Auburn. The Tigers gave LSU a game a few weeks ago, but weren’t talented enough to get within arms reach and Ole Miss is coming off of being completely shut down by Alabama. How does a young Ole Miss team respond? And how good can Auburn really be this season?

David Shepard

This week seems to have more opportunities for the upsets than previous weeks.  OSU and Northwestern, FSU vs. Maryland and Washington at Stanford. I try to play it safe when making my picks, but if I was adventuresome I might pick Northwestern if for no other reason, it is about time for OSU to stump their toe. I would love to see UGA come in flat and get slapped around on Rocky Top.

UF and Arkansas is an interesting game, if the Gators take care of the ball and score their 24 they should have a 10 point win.
